friday’s fab five {1.23.15}

The fab five is posted every Friday to end the week on a happy note and features items on my radar that I’m loving right now. Who knows, you might find something that could be on your fab five list!

What are you up to this weekend? My mom and sisters hosted the best baby shower this weekend and I’m so happy we were able to make it happen. This kid is going to be so loved it’s ridiculous. Justin was able to meet me here and I decided to hang out with the parents for a couple of days afterwards as it’ll be my last time to travel before the adventures of mommy hood consumes my life. Add to that a new house to move into. Let the adventures begin!

Here’s this week’s fab five:

1. Dance Cardio with Natalia

Stop whatever you’re doing and watch this video, seriously. This girl rocks, and I’m proud to say she’s my sister. Her class is a mix of hip hop and latin, and guaranteed to make you sweat your you-know-what off. It’s the only kind of workout I’ll do aside from yoga, and she makes it fun. Check out her youtube channel and facebook page. If you’re in Dallas- try a class!

2. Recipe of the week: Chocolate Desserts

Since I couldn’t pick just one, I decided to link the recipes shown on the Today Show for your viewing (and cooking) pleasure. I’ll take one of everything please!

3. Grey and Yellow Baby Shoes $26

Can we talk about how utterly adorable these baby shoes are?? Since I’m thinking the nursery colors would be grey and yellow, you can tell where my mind is as far as colors. So, so cute.

4. Valentine’s Day Candle Holder $40

So pretty, even if you don’t celebrate Valentine’s Day. These candle holders give the right amount of soft lighting to any room.

5. Jimmy Fallon Plays “Catchphrase” with Jennifer Lopez

I couldn’t stop laughing at this, I so want to play it! My family’s game is Taboo, so this one is right up our alley. I was afraid J.Lo’s top was going to reveal too much at one point, but she’s got her team on it. Fun game!

That’s it for me, have a great weekend everyone!

friday’s fab five {1.9.15}

The fab five is posted every Friday to end the week on a happy note and features items on my radar that I’m loving right now. Who knows, you might find something that could be on your fab five list!

Happy 2015! How are you feeling about the new year so far? A friend of mine and I were talking about how stressful 2014 was, and how 2015 seemed like it was off to a rough start. Is it us or are you guys feeling it as well? With the new baby, finding a place for our lives to grow and the prospects of new opportunities and changes, it’s going to get rocky ladies and gentlemen!

Here’s this week’s fab five:

1. Food Pick: Java Caramel Coffee Cubes $14.99

Move over Starbucks Via, I’m willing to give these little cubes a shot. Just drop in hot water and there you have it, sweet coffee galore. Time to wake up!

2. Weekend Bag $120

I’ve come to the conclusion that I don’t have a good weekend bag. I need one that expands easily, but can also be squished enough to fit under seats or overhead bin when traveling. This one is a bit on the pricey side, but so cute.

3. “My Brain Has Too Many Tabs Open” Print $23

Let’s just say this print speaks to me in so many ways. Right now it’s on overdrive and might show me the blue screen of death any minute.

4. Cards Against Humanity $25

Have you guys played this game yet? I know it’s been around for a while, but I finally got a chance to play it and damn it was fun! Since it can be dirty/gross/crude/innapropriate, just make sure you know who you’re playing with. Oh and as far as parents and grandparents, maybe pick a different game.

5. Song Pick: “Doubt” Mary J Blige

Love my girl Mary J, check out this new one from her London Sessions album. I think you’ll like it!

That’s it for me, have a great weekend everyone!

friday’s fab five {12.12.14}

The fab five is posted every Friday to end the week on a happy note and features items on my radar that I’m loving right now. Who knows, you might find something that could be on your fab five list!

What are you up to this weekend? For those in the Bay Area, I hope you survived the big storm! It’s so funny seeing how different cities react to out-of-the-ordinary weather. People were freaking out here about the big storm, putting sandbags down and closing schools. In Texas, a rainstorm is nothing (we have tornadoes and hurricanes to worry about), but bring on the snow and we stock up on food and supplies in case we can never go outside again. Ahh, weather troubles.

On to this week’s fab five:

1. Jurlique Lavender Body Oil $48

Once upon a time I worked at a high-end spa and they sold 2 exclusive spa lines, Yonka and Jurlique, and they were both fabulous. Yonka was more aromatic, with strong notes of rosemary that I couldn’t get enough of. Jurlique, on the other hand, was all about healing herbs and fragrances like lavender and calendula. Jurlique always smells fresh, non-synthetic and beautiful. I love this body oil and it’ll leave you feeling like you just left the Four Seasons.

2. Recipe of the week: Easy Chocolate Truffles (via Martha Stewart)

Who knew chocolate truffles were so easy to make? Dust cocoa powder or that fancy “lust powder” (which I’m assuming only people like Martha Stewart has) and this makes a pretty good holiday gift for those friends and co-workers.

3. Pixar’s Inside Out Trailer

You’ve got to see this trailer for Disney’s new movie coming out in June, it looks adorable! I have a feeling it’s going to be a big hit.

4. Baby Bargains Book

This has become my baby bible when picking out strollers, cribs, car seats and everything else baby related. I like to do my research, and with so many unfamiliar brands and items I never thought I’d need to know, this book makes me feel like I’m making an informed decision. Overwhelming? Absolutely.

5. Song Pick: Mark Ronson ft. Bruno Mars “Uptown Funk”

Bruno Mars comes out with some good stuff, and this one is no different. Love this new track and his performance on SNL was pretty sweet.

That’s it for me, have a great weekend everyone!
